The MFTT is completely original from start to finish. The Events three routes offer a unique opportunity to run/walk/bike through the Menengai Forest and is best combination of challenge and spectacular scenery. It also serves as a tree planting drive geared to help the conservation of Menengai Forest.

This challenge is designed with options of 7, 13 and 25km, well-placed route markers in white chalk, caution tapes and adequate race marshals. Since February is a very hot month, all participants are required to make mandatory stoppage at water/fruits points to re-energize and also get a pass to proceed. This is to enforce safety and minimize chances of unwanted incidents. Whether you are a new runner, a mountain biker or you got hundreds of miles under your belt or just a seasonal adventurer or explorer, you are invited to experience the MFTT trails.

  • 25km

The longer MFTT route will take you through Nakuru’s Milimani area sitting south of the Menengai Forest, up through the informal settlements of Ngachura and Bahati estates. With views across the sheer drops of the east of Menengai and out over the urban settlements, the city and the lake, the route makes its way to the summit of the trail gaining over 500mts, where the breathtaking Menengai crater awaits. From here, if you aren’t afraid of heights or dramatic drop-offs, you will run on the edges of the crater on a gentle downhill marvel with a thick vegetative carpet in the forest trail down round the Nakuru Golf Course and ending at the finish point, the Agricultural show grounds of Nakuru. The trail has some thrilling technical elements to it, some steep downhill sections with natural forest obstacles.

  • 13km

Starting at the ASK Show grounds, this shorter route takes a diversion at the 6km mark just near the KBC booster station, taking an early downhill towards the main Forest gate to join the longer route going round and behind the golf course through some exciting low-canopied forest trails straight to the finish point.

  • 7km

This is the shortest trail. It is a circular route with a gentle climb, starting at the show grounds making its way inside the Milimani suburbs, through the low canopied forest trails behind the Golf club and back to the finish point. Participants will enjoy the tranquility and serenity the route will offer.
